April 2026 Newsletter

Dear Readers,

April is here, and with it comes all the promise of spring—longer days, fresh blooms, and new beginnings. 🌷 With Easter just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to wish you and your family a joyful and blessed holiday. As a writer of inspirational fiction, this season has always resonated deeply with me. Easter is a beautiful reminder of hope, redemption, and new beginnings. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and hold close the things that matter most. May yours be filled with peace, hope, and all the beauty this season brings. 💛
I know it seems like we just did all this for An Amish Widow’s Hope, but it’s time to build the ARC & Street Team for Her Reluctant Amish Heart!

What exactly is a street team?

Think of it as a small group of dedicated readers who get to be part of the launch from the inside. Street team members help share about the book—posting on social media, leaving reviews, talking it up to friends, and helping create that early buzz that makes such a difference for a new release.

Here’s what that looks like:

• Reading an advance copy (ARC)

• Leaving an honest review on Bookbub, Goodreads, Amazon, personal blog/website

• Sharing posts, teasers, or other graphics on social media

And what do you get in return?

• A FREE print or eBook copy of Her Reluctant Amish Heart

What’s it about: When a reckless street race injures her brother, Anika Glick wants nothing to do with the man responsible—especially when he’s sentenced to help her family. But Elam Muller is desperate to prove he’s changed. As they work together on her family farm, Anika finds herself drawn to Elam’s remorse and kindness. But when they’re presented with one last risky race that could secure their future or destroy it all, everything they’ve built is put to the test. Will their growing love survive the pull of the past—or will it all come crashing down?

Sign-ups will close on April 30, 2026, and spots are limited. Those selected will be contacted during the first week of May and added to the email loop. At that time, I’ll share promotional details, as well as confirm delivery of books, etc…

There will be a three month lead time before the July 28th, 2026 release to give team members plenty of time to fit participation into their schedules–>>

This month, Heidi M asks: As I was reading your answer to the person’s question, you mentioned that you used to write paranormal romance. I have personally stayed away from it because it at first glance / thought it sounds dark and evil and really weird. Would you be able to explain in layman’s terms what paranormal actually means? And is there such a thing as Christian paranormal fiction?
Pam’s reply: Paranormal romance, also known as PNR, simply refers to stories that include elements like vampires, dragons, psychic abilities, or other supernatural happenings. The best examples would be books by Charlaine Harris and Laurell K. Hamilton to name a few.  When you add romance into the mix, paranormal romance blends those supernatural elements with a central love story. The relationship is still the heart of the book—it just happens in a world where something “other” exists. That could mean one (or both) characters aren’t entirely human, or that they’re navigating forces beyond the natural world while falling in love.

At the beginning of my career, I wrote in the PNR genre for many years.  And yes, there is such a thing as Christian or faith-based paranormal fiction. In those cases, the supernatural elements are usually grounded in a biblical worldview.

As for why I switched genres…

In 2012, I walked away from an active 3 book contract with no intention of returning. Writing those types of books no longer worked for me, but I didn’t know why. After a seven-year break, I suddenly felt a strong call to begin writing Christian-based fiction. My time away from the business had reshaped not only what I wanted to write, but also the message I wanted to share through my stories. In other words, God shook Pam and said, “It’s time to do better.”

I hope that makes sense and answers your questions.

For taking the time to email Ask Pam, Heidi received a tote bag.

Got a question you’ve been itching to Ask Pam? Send an email to ask.pam@aol.com –  and your question might be featured in an upcoming newsletter. If yours is selected, I’ll answer it and send a present your way! ✨

On the writing front, I’m still waiting to hear back from my editor about the new proposal currently sitting on her desk (fingers crossed over here). The moment I have any news, you know I’ll be sharing it.

That’s all I’ve got for April. I’m looking forward to getting the new street team for Her Reluctant Amish Heart up and running, so be sure and get signed up. I’ll begin selecting and contacting team members at the beginning of May.

Thanks so much for being part of this journey with me. Happy reading and many blessings until next time!

~Pamela
